The Directorate of School Education has banned teachers in government schools across the state from carrying cellphones to classrooms. They will have to take prior permission of the school heads if they need to carry the phone to the class as an academic aid or for any other reason, which they need to mention in a special register. Inspecting officers have been asked to check compliance. In case of any violation, action will be taken against the erring teacher. The school head too will be held accountable.
