New Delhi, Sept 23: The Ministry of Railways on Friday denied reports that the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has banned several banks from using its payment gateways for debit/credit cards. “No Debit/Credit Card of any bank has been restricted by IRCTC 4 acceptance on any of Gateways as has been misrepresented by some of the news,” the Ministry of Railways tweeted.
Meanwhile, the IRCTC tweeted out on Friday that the debit cards of all the banks are accepted through its seven payment gateways for booking of tickets. The clarification has come as relief for thousands of passengers who have accounts or use the cards of banks which were reportedly blocked according to some reports.
