Kingpin of Telangana EAMCET-II exam paper leak held in Uttar Pradesh

Hyderabad: The Telangana crime investigation department (CID) probing the leak of the Telangana state engineering agriculture and medical common entrance test (EAMCET)-II medical question papers, on Wednesday arrested the prime accused in the case in Uttar Pradesh.

“Shiv Bahadur Singh alias S.B. Singh, a property dealer, and his assistant Anoop Kumar Singh, a driver, were arrested by the crime investigation department from Jaunpur in connection with the paper leak case,” a release from the (expand) DGP office said. “He was brought under transit warrant to Hyderabad,” said the release. According to the CID, Singh, who is involved in different paper leak cases since 2005, is the prime accused this case.

“He was allegedly involved in the paper leak of railway group-D exam in Lucknow, railway drivers exam at Allahabad, teachers eligibility test (TET) examination, PSC examination leak case of Punjab, J&K teachers exam paper leak case, Wardha Medical College paper leak case of Maharashtra, Chandigarh teachers examination leak case, Kolkata TET examination paper leak case and DMRC examination paper leak case,” the CID said.

On July 25 last year, the CID had registered a case under the IPC and other provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Public Examinations (Prevention of Malpractices and Unfair means) Act, 1997. It has since then arrested 49 persons (brokers and sub-brokers) and seized Rs2.87 crore in the scam related to EAMCET (medical) 2016 question paper leak, said the release.
